Iran's Vice President in charge of women and family affairs has emphasized that women play an important role in creating beautiful Islamic art.

Iran press/Iran news: Masoumeh Ebtekar in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Saturday on the sidelines of an exhibition in Tabriz in northwestern Iran said: "Over 75 percent of handicrafts and over 80 percent of hand-woven carpets are made by the skillful hands of Iranian women. The beauty of Islamic arts owes much to the skill of Muslim Iranian women."

In further remarks, the Vice President for women's affairs stressed that art in a way reflects the beauty of the Almighty, and the handicraft industry of Iran with its beautiful products reflects the enthusiasm, love, and spirit of Iranian women, Iran press reported.

Masoumeh Ebtekar added: "Handicrafts are important from an economic point of view, but they are also linked to peace, calm, and kindness."
