Iran Press/Iran news: Mohammad Javad Zarif reminded that in history, barbarians committed the same crimes as what Trump threats to do.
Barbarians have come and ravaged our cities, razed our monuments and burnt our libraries. Where are they now? We’re still here, & standing tall, Zarif tweeted.
In a tweet on Sunday Zarif, has chided US President Donald Trump for threatening to deliberately target cultural sites in Iran, saying such action would constitute a war crime.
The Iranian foreign minister tweeted: "Having committed grave breaches of int'l law in Friday's cowardly assassinations, @realdonaldtrump threatens to commit again new breaches of JUS COGENS; (which in Latin means 'compelling law') -Targeting cultural sites is a WAR CRIME; -Whether kicking or screaming, end of US malign presence in West Asia has begun."
US President Donald Trump in a twitter message warned that if Iran reacted to the assassination of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, the US military will target 52 points in Iran including Iranian cultural sites.
Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, Abu Mehdi al-Muhandis, the deputy chief of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization (al-Hashed al-Sha'abi), along with a number of other military figures were martyred by direct order of US President Donald Trump in the early hours of Friday morning (January 3, 2020).
