Iran Press/ Asia: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum on Saturday, added: "Negotiations of the Joint Commission of the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) will probably be concluded by mid-August, and now in the latest text of the Vienna talks, parentheses are being removed.
The Iranian Foreign Minister said that the main obstacle remaining in the talks was how the US' adherence to the JCPOA was verified.
"Joe Biden wants to use the previous administration's failed policies as leverage. Unfortunately, European countries have been forced to give in to US sanctions policies, but that does not mean that they have accepted this policy," Zarif said.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also referred to the recent US failures in the UN Security Council in advancing the bill to extend the arms embargo against Iran, adding: "The United States can still impose economic power on financial institutions and impose sanctions on them, but it has no legitimacy in the international community for its actions."
Regarding negotiations with Saudi Arabia, Zarif said: "Negotiating is better than not negotiating; Iran is ready to send an ambassador to Saudi Arabia tomorrow."
Zarif also stressed Tehran's cooperation with Baghdad in the fight against ISIS terrorists, saying: "Iran stood on the front lines of the fight against ISIS, alongside the Iraqi government and people."
