The Houthis’ al-Masira television said that rockets were aimed at Saudi defense ministry and other targets in the Saudi capital.
The missile force fired stepped up ballistic missile attacks toward military and vital targets in the deep of Saudi-led aggression coalition.
“The missile force ‘Burkan (Volcano)’ hit its targets in Riyadh with high precision,” al-Masira said, without giving details.
There were no reported casualties or damage.
Yemeni forces regularly fire ballistic missiles at positions inside Saudi Arabia in retaliation for the Riyadh-led military campaign in Yemen.
The three years of Saudi-led air and ground campaign, as well as tight naval and air blockade of Yemen, brought the country to the brink of full collapse.
Some 22 million people, roughly 80 percent of Yemen’s population, depend on humanitarian aid, with over 8 million being in immediate danger of starvation, according to the UN.
In March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies including the United Arab Emirates launched an aggression on Yemen in a bid to return to power deposed Yemeni president Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi.
The war imposed on Yemen by Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies over the past three years has not only failed to harm the newly-born revolution of the Yemeni people but has also inflicted heavy casualties and material losses on the two main members of the coalition - Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
