Iran Press/ Middle East: On Wednesday evening, the first day of the Eid al-Adha holidays, a Swedish citizen burned a copy of the Quran, the holy book of the Muslims.
Issuing a statement on Thursday, the Political Bureau of Yemen's Ansarullah Movement called the Swedish national's act a hostile step toward the Islamic sanctities and provocation of the Muslims.
It stated that the Israeli lobby in Europe is behind the crime, noting that the desecration of the Quran coincided with the Muslims' performance of Hajj rituals, in which they announced their hatred of the enemies of Islam.
Meanwhile, in another development, the Iraqi people held a protest gathering in front of Sweden's Embassy in Baghdad in response to the crime, calling for the expelling of the Swedish ambassador from Iraq.
