Tabriz (IP) - The 27th of September has been named World Tourism Day, with a total of 27 cultural heritage monuments inscribed on UNESCO, Iran has turned into one of the leading countries with most sites inscribed on the World Heritage List.

Iran PressIran News: The World Tourism Organization has named September 27 as World Tourism Day and every year announces a slogan to celebrate this day, the slogan of World Tourism Day in 2023 is "Green Tourism and Investment".

Iran is famous for its four-season weather. It is considered one of few countries in the world where visitors may experience all four seasons in a part of the country all year long. Due to its diverse and spectacular tourism capacities, it is always the focus of foreign tourists.

Recently, 54 Iranian Caravansaras were registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List, one of them, Khajeh Nazar Caravansarai, is the most unique Caravansarai of the historical Safavid era in the Aras Azad region of East Azerbaijan province. Khajeh Nazar Caravansarai was built for the rest and accommodation of trade caravans of the Silk Road. Abolfazl Ranjbar, a tourism expert from the Aras Free Zone Organization, highlighted in an interview with Iran Press that Khaje Nazar boasts a rich history spanning over 400 years, dating back to the Shah Abbas Safavid era.

Additionally, during World Tourism Day, an Iran Press reporter in East Azarbaijan captured footage of not only the stunning Caravanserai of Khwaja Nazar Jolfa but also the exquisite caravanserai of Yam Marand. These breathtaking architectural wonders showcase the beauty of Iranian art and architecture to tourists.

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, a young Iraqi tourist traveled to Tabriz talked to the Iran Press reporter, and invited the people of the world to visit the beauties of Iran, saying, "I enjoy traveling to Tabriz and Iran very much."Another Iraqi tourist says the presence of many museums and beautiful historical buildings in Iran shows the richness of Iran's civilization and history.

Iran with 27 UNESCO World Heritage Sites is one of the 10 countries with the most cultural heritage sites in UNESCO’s World Heritage list.

27 heritage sites in Iran have already been registered in UNESCO’s list of World Heritage: Armenian Monastic Ensembles of Iran, Bam and its Cultural Landscape, Bisotun, Cultural Landscape of Maymand, Golestan Palace, Gonbad-e Qabus, Masjed-e Jame of Isfahan, Meidan-e Emam, Pasargadae, Persepolis, Shahr-i Sokhta, Sheikh Safi al-din Khanegah and Shrine Ensemble in Ardabil, Shushtar Historical Hydraulic System, Soltaniyeh Dome, Susa, Tabriz Historic Bazaar Complex, Takht-e Soleyman, Tchogha Zanbil, The Persian Qanat, Lut desert, The Persian Garden, Sassanid Archeological Landscape of Fars Region, Historic City of Yazd as well as Hyrcanian Forests, Iranian caravanserais.
