Iran Press/ Iran News: In an interview with Iran Press, the Vice President of the Iranian Weightlifting Federation, Davoud Bagheri, said: "The two weightlifters still have a chance to win the Tokyo Olympic quota, and Sohrab Moradi has a much better chance than Kianoush Rostami."
He stated that with Rostami withdrawing from the Olympic quota competition in Colombia, Sohrab Moradi left for Colombia alone to re-test his chances of becoming an Olympian.
"In my opinion, Rostami's withdrawal from the Colombian quota competition was because he could not reach a record 403 kg in total," he added.
He pointed out that Sohrab Moradi would compete in the Olympic quota competition in Colombia on Thursday, and if he manages to set a record of 388 kg, he will win the Tokyo Olympic quota.
Kianoush Rostami's Olympic quota also depends on the positive response of the International Weightlifting Federation to the letter of Iran Weightlifting Federation, in which the IWF is asked to consider Rostami's score in the Swiss competitions, Bagheri concluded.
