Iran Press/Iran News: Iran's Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Masoud Soltanifar told the correspondents on Sunday that on Friday night two letters have been sent to AFC and we showed our dissatisfaction about the movement of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to ban Iran from hosting football games. After that several phone calls were made in order to change Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) opinion.
"In correspondence with Sheikh Salman, AFC's head, I asked him to change his idea based on the realities of the Islamic Republic of Iran," he said.
According to Soltanifar, another letter has been sent to Sheikh Ahmad, President of the Asian Olympic Council, and a phone call was made to talk to Sheikh Salman about the issue.
"We are waiting to know the final decision of AFC in the next hours, and we think that necessary actions has been taken by Iran's Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs," stressed Soltanifar.
