Tehran (IP) - Government spokesman Ali Rabiei in his weekly press conference about the European Union Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell's trip to Tehran, said: Dialogue with Europe, and their resistance to US pressure, is a priority for us.

Iran Press/Iran news: Responding to an Iran Press question about the European Union's foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell's trip to Tehran, Government spokesman Ali Rabiei said: "This is Mr. Borrell's first trip to Iran as the European Union's foreign affairs chief, and I hope this trip will be fruitful and reduces disagreements between Tehran and Brussels over Europe's lack of adherence to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

"In our view, dialogue with Europe and their resistance to US pressure, is a priority for us. We do not want to push the Europeans to the US side. We welcome the efforts of some European countries for their independence from the United States," he said, adding that "The talks between Iranian officials and Mr. Borrell will include US adventures in the region."

"If Europe shows sufficient goodwill in resolving disputes, there will be no obstacle to expanding relations", Rabiei highlighted.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell is scheduled to meet and talk with senior Iranian officials.
