As Iran marked the 33rd anniversary of the downing of its passenger plane by a US Navy guided-missile cruiser above the Persian Gulf, Foreign Minister said, "US violence against the Iranian people continues with economic terrorism."

As a young diplomat, I witnessed US refusal to apologize over the human tragedy it caused. US violence against Iranians began long before & continues today with #EconomicTerrorism against our people."

33 years ago, the passenger plane of Iran Air 655, which was flying in the Persian Gulf skies was targeted by two missiles from an American ship.

290 innocent passengers lost their lives because of the brutal attack.
