Brazil's resolution received broad support from multiple nations calling for humanitarian pauses to allow aid access to Gaza, a total of 12 countries voted in favor, highlighting the consensus on the issue.

While the proposal garnered much support, a veto from the United States led to its downfall.

The US has vetoed a UN resolution that would have condemned all violence against civilians and urged humanitarian aid to Gazans.

Only the US voted against the resolution while, 15-member of the Security Council were in favor, and two abstentions.
