Beirut(IP) - The students of Lebanese universities, including the International University of Beirut, like the students in the US, expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Iran Press/ West Asia:  The American student protest movement began 9 days ago on April 17 at Columbia University in New York; the protesting students called on the university to cut off its relations with the Israeli institutions involved in the war on Gaza.

Nidal Momin, a Lebanese student, told Iran Press on Tuesday evening that the issue of Palestine is of paramount importance and all students should pay due attention to it.

Shadi al-Awar told Iran Press that the Lebanese students are the voice of the voiceless Palestinians and stressed that the US university in Beirut must have no cooperation with the Israeli regime.

He said that the support of American university students for Palestine and Gaza had a great impact on Lebanese students, adding that the US student movement shows that the world is rising up for Palestine.

Mazin Muhammad al-Ladawi said the message of the Lebanese students' solidarity gathering is that Palestine is not alone.

Fatima Salama noted that holding such a student gathering is the simplest way to declare support for the Palestinian people whore are suffering every day and get martyred.

The US Student Movement initiated in support across the country in support of the Palestinian people has spilled over the other parts of the world including Paris, Iran, Lebanon, and Australia.

Since October 7 and the beginning of the all-out Israeli war on Gaza, over 34,500 people have been martyred and over 77,700 others have been wounded, besides dealing with famine and starvation.
