The chairwoman of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere in the US House of Representatives confirms that President Raisi’s visit to Latin American countries demonstrates the failure of the White House Latin America policy.

Iran PressAmerica: Maria Elvira Salazar, chairwoman of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere in the US House of Representatives, told Fox News that [President] Raisi’s trip demonstrates the failure of President Joe Biden’s Latin America policy.

She also slammed the Biden administration for its failure to establish a clear vision for Latin America.

According to Salazar, this lack of leadership has provided an opportunity for "rival nations" like Iran to expand their ties with countries in what she claimed is the United State's "hemisphere".

Salazar expressed her concerns about the consequences of Biden's weak leadership.

The Iranian president's Latin America tour takes special interest in countries sanctioned by the United States. Upon arrival in Managua, Nicaragua, on Tuesday evening, Raisi said, "The US sought to stop our nation through sanctions and threats, but not only our nation did not give in, but it also created an opportunity out of threats and sanctions and made progress."

To this, Salazar said the US must repair its relationships with allied Latin American regimes to form a front against the non-complying nations, to counter the US' declining authority in the region.

On his three-leg tour to Latin America, Ebrahim Raisi visited Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba to expand Iran's relations with the Latin American countries.

Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Iran has established good relations with some countries in the Latin American region, such as Nicaragua, Cuba, Venezuela, and Bolivia, which have a long history of fighting imperialism and global arrogance led by the United States.
