Iran Press/America: The House Foreign Affairs Committee announced on Friday that it would move to hold Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in contempt of Congress for defying its subpoenas related to the State Department’s participation in the Senate Republicans’ investigation targeting the Bidens.
According to Hill News, Elliot Engel, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said: "Mike Pompeo refused to submit the documents requested by the committee, and a draft resolution was submitted to Congress to investigate him."
Elliot Engel added that the committee drafted a resolution after Pompeo refused to provide documents related to the investigation into his misuse of government resources for political reasons.
According to the report, Pompeo is accused of ignoring the September request of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee to the State Department which demanded him to provide documents related to the impeachment investigation into Donald Trump's blocking of military aid to Ukraine.
Pompeo is also accused of leaking tens of thousands of documents that the State Department has provided to two Republican-controlled Senate committees investigating the diplomacy of former Vice President under, Joe Biden in Ukraine.
Elliot Engel said Pompeo was helping both the Senate and Republican leaders by making baseless allegations about Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.
