Iran Press/ Iran news: The Foreign Ministry speaker said, "The election of the US President is up to the people of that country, and now the American people have made their choice."
He also noted, "Our people have endured very bitter experiences from successive American administrations in the past."
He added that elections are an opportunity to review and reconsider past misguided approaches.
"What matters to Iran and serves as a criterion for evaluation is the performance of the US government," he concluded.
Fatemeh Mohajerani, speaker for the Islamic Republic of Iran's government, also reacted to Trump's election on Wednesday, saying: "The election of the US President does not have a specific relevance to us. Iran's general policies are fixed and will not change with the replacement of individuals.'"
