The Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) appreciated Iran's measures to protect the environment.

Iran PressEurope: The Head of Iran's Department of Environment Ali Salajegheh and the head of UNFCCC Patricia Espinosa met on Wednesday on the sidelines of the COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference.

During the meeting, Espinoza said that Iran, an oil-rich country with high capacities, was on its way to development and progress.

"The electrification of vehicles and the use of clean energy for development, and the use of new technologies in transportation are good measures that we are witnessing," she said.

Ali Salajegheh, for his part, stressed the cooperation of the significant international communities and expressed hope that the entities pay more attention to the issue.

The COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference, hosted by Scotland's Glasgow, started on 31 October and is underway to 12 November 2021.
