Iran Press/ Middle East: A source in the resigned government of Mansour Hadi told Al Jazeera that the UAE is trying to destabilize the island of Socrates and launch a bloody conflict simultaneously with the rebellion of the Transitional Council.
The United Arab Emirates failed to win the loyalty of thirteen resigned Yemeni government army officers to a coup against the authority, led by Governor Ramzi Mahrous.
Militias belonging to the so-called Southern Transitional Council carried out an attempt to take control over security headquarters in the governorate, including breaking into the headquarters of the rescue police and looting its contents.
The Yemeni government blames UAE-backed separatist movements of rebelling against the government in Socotra province, which is formed by six islands.
Armed groups of STC attempted a failed coup in October 2019 to seize Socotra.
The UAE used more than 270 people trained in Abu Dhabi to stage a coup d'état in Socotra.
The source said that the UAE has prepared a ship and several boats and helicopters to deploy forces in Socotra.
He added: "54 of these mercenaries have received helicopter pilot training in Abu Dhabi to carry out a coup d'etat in Socotra."
The source added: "The UAE has used a civilian flight a week under the pretext of providing aid to send these forces to Socotra."
