Turkey’s deputy minister of culture and tourism has said promoting tourism ties between Iran and Turkey will enhance the brotherly relations that have always existed between the two countries.

Referring to his last trip to Tehran last year, Turkey’s deputy minister of culture and tourism, Hussein Yayman, said: “Our aim is to have a more stable and better cultural relations with Iran.  Tehran and Ankara have always been hand in hand, they have been enjoying brotherly relations and they have been together due to their cultural commonalities and geographical proximity".

Commenting further Yayman said:  “What Iran lacks is proper advertisement of its tourist attractions and capabilities.”

He said:  "Nobody in Turkey knows much about Iran's tourist sites and capacities; what the Turkish people know is limited to a few symbols and monuments of Iran's big cities, such as Tehran".

The Turkish official urged Iran to be more active in introducing its tourist attractions, and invited Iranian officials to engage more with their Turkish counterparts.
