Iran Press/ Europe: Referring to the approval of the BRICS tourism road map in the meeting of the officials of the member countries, The mayor of Rasht, Rahim Shoghi, in his speech announced the readiness of this city to establish direct contacts with tourism operators in the BRICS countries, exchange tourists and mutual introduction of tourist attractions.
Shoghi went on to introduce some tourism and cultural capacities of Rasht city and reminded that the local cuisine of Rasht city is world-famous.
The mayor of Rasht said: "This city has recognized creativity in food science as a strategic factor of sustainable development concerning economic, social, cultural, and environmental aspects."
Shoghi continued: "The city of Rasht, the paradise of Iranian food, has taken the first place in Iran with more than 250 types of local food, and now more than two thousand restaurants and cafes are active in this city."
The mayor of Rasht spoke about the increase in the number of foreign tourists in this city and added: "Most of the foreign tourists in this city are from Arab countries and Central Asia."
The 6th edition of the International Municipal BRICS Forum is being held in Moscow in the presence of representatives from the Islamic Republic of Iran and other members and partners of this group.
