Iran press/Iran news: The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that it was closely following developments in the implementation of the joint comprehensive action plan on Iran's nuclear program.
Sergei Ryabkov will hold talks with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran according to Iran Press.
The parties will focus on issues relating to the JCPOA.
US President Donald Trump withdrew Washington in May 2018 from the multilateral nuclear agreement and decided to re-impose unilateral sanctions against Tehran.
On the first anniversary of the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal, Iran announced that it would suspend the implementation of some of its commitments under the deal, announcing that it would stop exporting excess uranium and heavy water, setting a 60-day deadline for the five remaining parties to the deal to take practical measures towards ensuring its interests in the face of the American sanctions.
Speaking after a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Sochi on May 13, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Iran had every right to scale back some of its commitments under a multilateral nuclear agreement.
