Tehran (IP) - The adviser to the Commander-in-Chief and Leader of the Islamic Revolution on army affairs says the Islamic Republic has become a significant regional power and a role player in the world.

Iran PressIran News: Brigadier-General Amir Hatami said in a speech at a meeting of commanders and senior managers of the army headquarters, which was hosted by the Army University of Medical Sciences, that the role the Islamic Republic of Iran played in the regional developments and its influence was against the evil goals of the arrogant powers and the domineering system in such a way that it had foiled US' plans and scenarios.

The advisor to the Commander-in-Chief on the affairs of the army added: "Without a doubt, the West Asian region is one of the most important regions that has attracted the attention of many international players, and its geopolitical, geostrategic position, and huge energy reserves are among the most important factors that made this region very important and each of the international, regional and extra-regional actors and organizations are competing for the expansion of influence and presence in the Middle East."

Gen. Hatami stated: "These actors are trying to achieve their own interests and goals in the region, and the Americans, as the most important extra-regional actor involved in the political, security and economic equations of this region, always try to implement colonial and beneficial scenarios by interfering in the internal affairs of countries and loot the national wealth of countries."

The top general considered the geopolitical and geostrategic position, energy reserves, access and control over the Persian Gulf, the Sea of ​​Oman, and the transit position of Iran as the most important factors of the double importance of the country's position in this region and noted: "Today, our dear country, Iran, as one of the most important influential countries play a role in creating regional order and shaping the political, economic and security structures of this region."
