Iran Press/ Iran news: The top Iranian general made the comment in a meeting on Tuesday morning with "Qamar Javid Bajwa" the top commander of the ground forces of the Pakistani army. The meeting took place in Tehran.
In further comments, Major General Seyyed Abdul-Rahim Mousavi said the two neighbouring countries have a common religion with Iran-Pakistan cooperation and relations being deep-rooted and going back many years.
He added: "The two armed forces cooperate closely in military training and education, with both sides regularly exchanging trainee cadets and soldiers."
For his part, the top Pakistani General, Qamar Javid Bajwa, welcomed the expansion of military ties between Tehran and Islamabad saying: "The Pakistani Army is ready to upgrade cooperation with the Iranian Army in all areas."
Bajwa added: "Iran and Pakistan face common threats and their interests are closely tied, which means the two sides must cooperate with one another closely."
The top commander of the ground forces of the Pakistani army, Qamar Javid Bajwa, at the head of a high ranking military delegation, arrived in Tehran on Monday to discuss expansion of military ties between Tehran and Islamabad.
