Tehran (IP) - The National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) dispatching manager rejected reports of stopping gas exports to Iraq.

Iran PressIran news: Mohammad-Reza Jolaei said that five to 10 million cubic meters per day of gas export to Iraq has been reduced on average during the few past days due to the grid malfunction in western Iran.

The extreme heat in southern and southwestern Iran has caused glitches in production and transmission equipment, he explained.

Jolaei said the average gas exported to the neighboring country in the past month amounted to 30 mcm/d, concluding that the figure decreased to 21 mcm/d this month due to the technical problem.
