Tehran (IP)- Iran’s largest underground terminal was officially opened on Saturday in Tehran at a ceremony attended by high-ranking officials on August 20, 2022.

Iran PressIran news: The capacity of the terminal, located at the Ekbatan metro station in western Tehran, is 21 trains, of which nine railway lines are for periodic maintenance and train services.

During the ceremony, Tehran's Mayor said: "Today we are opening the largest terminal in the country, and every Saturday, we shall be inaugurating large-scale projects until the end of the year, and the current 143 metro stations will increase to reach 155. 

Alireza Zakani noted: A contract of 113 wagons has been signed through internal financing, and the government has allocated 77 million euros for this project.
