Iran Press/ Iran News: During a virtual meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Venezuelan counterpart Jorge Arreaza, they put on the agenda a joint cooperation program between the two countries.
In a tweet, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister called the purpose of the meeting to strengthen fraternal relations between the two nations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and wrote: In a meeting with our brother Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian Foreign Minister, geopolitical threats to the two nations, peace and multilateralism have been discussed and by reviewing the comprehensive program of bilateral cooperation, we will be at the best point of our historical relations.
For the past 70 years, Iran and Venezuela have established their political relations with a strategic-geopolitical approach.
Among the cooperation agreements reached between Tehran and Caracas are agreements in strategic areas such as energy and oil, trade, industry and defense, cultural and educational cooperation.
Iran and Venezuela, both of which have been the target of the most severe, unilateral US sanctions, have taken similar positions to overcome them.
The Washington administration has sought to oust Venezuela's President Nicolás Maduro by imposing more than 150 kinds of sanctions. 207
