Iran Press/ America: Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein on Saturday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly to discuss bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the agreements reached during the Iraqi Prime Minister's recent visit to Tehran, Amir-Abdollahian's visit to Baghdad, as well as the meeting of Iraq's neighbors held in New York.
Economic diplomacy was another topic of discussion at the meeting, and agreements were reached between the two sides on pursuing some issues related to gas and electricity exports to Iraq.
During the meeting, the Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq also discussed the latest regional developments, the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan.
Amir-Abdollahian left New York for Tehran on Saturday evening, local time, after five days of intensive meetings and diplomatic consultations on the sidelines of the 76th UN General Assembly.
The foreign minister arrived in New York on Monday, local time, heading a delegation to attend the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.
During his five-day trip, he met with about 50 political and international officials to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues.
