Iran Press/Europe: In an interview with RIA Novosti, Kazem Jalali said in the political arena, relations between the two countries are at a very good level.
"We must strengthen political, bilateral, regional, and international relations and work together to combat terrorism and counter US economic terrorism that has imposed sanctions against Iran and Russia," Jalali stated.
"The purpose of the exercise is to bring peace and stability to the region, to fight terrorism and piracy," Jalali said of the joint Iran-Russia-China military exercise in the Indian Ocean, scheduled to begin on December 27.
The Iranian Navy's 20,000-kilometer mission to travel to St. Petersburg in northwestern Russia to participate in the military exercise will set a new record for the Iranian navy, as Iranian warships will travel more than 12,000 miles (about 20,000 kilometers).
