Tashkent Center for Islamic Civilization, increases reliance on Islamic beliefs

Tashkent (IP) - Iranian Foreign Minister visiting the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent city of Uzbekistan on Monday, said that the center had increased reliance on Islamic beliefs.

Iran PressAsia: Visiting the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent on Monday, Mohammad Javad Zarif described the Uzbek president's move to build the center as familiarizing young people with history and its values.

"It was also aimed at combating extremism and distancing from violent perceptions of Islam," he added.

In this visit, Shoazim Minovarov, the director of the center, in a detailed explanation, said that this center was a place for Islamic scholars from all over the world.

The center also has a rich library of Islamic works.

In the first phase of his trip to four Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan, Zarif met with the Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov in the Uzbek capital Tashkent this morning.
