Units of the Syrian Arab Army have liberated the town of al-Shajara in al-Yarmouk basin after driving out the last of Daesh (ISIL) terror groups from the region on Monday.

Army units entered al-Shajara town in the northwestern countryside of Daraa from the direction of Abdin village in the southwest side of the town and Tal Ghitar and Ayn Ghazala to the east and northeast and engaged in fierce clashes with terrorists which ended by liberating the town, according to SANA.

Earlier, army units advanced in Abdin village to the west of al-Shajra town, the main bastion of the Takfiri organization in the area of al-Yarmouk basin.

The terrorists quickly lost their morale and gave up fighting after they were encircled from three directions, and after they suffered  heavy losses in terms of both personnel and equipment in fighting with the Syrian army.

 

The Syrian army has successfully retaken 90 percent of Syrian province of Quneitra where   various terrorist groups  continue to hand over their heavy and medium weapons as the Syrian Army prepares to declare the entire southwestern province under its control.

The surrendered militants have agreed to an evacuation deal following the rapid advance achieved by the government troops across several front-lines.
