IP - The Iranian Embassy in Sweden in a message announced that Majid Nouri, son of the detained Iranian national Hamid Nouri was released from jail.

Iran Press/ Europe: Mr. Majid Nouri (son of Mr. Hamid Nouri), who was detained by the Swedish police, was released on Sunday with the intensive follow-up of this embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the embassy wrote in its X account on Sunday.

3 days ago, Sweden’s police arrested the son of Hamid Nouri.

“After hours with no information about my brother, who had gone to visit my father…, we realized that Majid has been arrested by Sweden’s police,” Atieh Nouri, daughter of Hamid Nouri, said in a post on X on Friday.

“We still do not know anything about the details of the matter,” she added.

Hamid Nouri was arrested upon arrival at Stockholm Airport in November 2019 and was immediately imprisoned.

He was accused of being involved in the execution and torture of MKO members in 1988, a charge that Iran has repeatedly called politically motivated.

Iranian authorities say Nouri’s imprisonment and trial in Sweden are politically politically-motivated, noting that the case has been influenced by pressure and propaganda of anti-Iran groups and individuals living in the West.
