Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking today after the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Mohammad Javad Zarif referred to the Foreign Ministry's efforts to repatriate Iranian students and compatriots from other countries, saying: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health must coordinate in this regard."
Iran's Foreign Minister added: "When we wanted to repatriate students from China's Wuhan, the Ministry of Health quarantined them for 14 days. Fortunately, none of them were affected by the coronavirus."
Regarding the preparation of the Ministry of Health's protocol to repatriate Iranian students and compatriots from other countries, Mohammad Javad Zarif noted: "The Ministry of Health has developed and presented protocols. In these cases, we will coordinate case by case with the Ministry of Health."
Iran's Foreign Minister pointed to the US approach to the coronavirus, saying: "One of the reasons the US is moving so hard against China, to the extent that the US insists on calling the coronavirus the “Wuhan Virus”, is that it has strengthened the US' and its allies in future international equations, and prevent the formation of new international equations."
Referring to the recent developments in the region, especially in Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and Afghanistan, Zarif said: "The plans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Intelligence, and Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have been discussed in today's Committee meeting with the aim of creating stability in the region, as well as countering terrorism, especially in Syria and Iraq, which I hope will benefit the country."
