Tehran (IP) - Iran's foreign ministry spokesman says the strategic balances in the region and the world are changing from the West to the East.

Iran PressIran news: The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Nasser Kanaani stated that the strategic balances in the region and the world are changing from the West to the East and said: "Today, the gaze of the nations of the region, including the Arab world, is no longer towards the west as it had been in the past."

Kanaani, in a meeting with Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the head of the Iran-China Friendship Association, said: "Today, most of the nations of the region have a negative view of the United States, and the Arab governments are trying to rebalance their relations with the United States, China and Russia."

Referring to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's emphasis on looking to the East, Kanaani said: "Looking to the East in Iran and strengthening relations with Eastern countries, including China, should be a strategic approach and not just a tactical approach against the West."

Referring to the capabilities of the Iran-China Friendship Association, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran added: "This non-governmental organization can help correct the views inside the country towards the East and correctly introduce the capacity. There are many economic and cultural exchanges with the East, including China."

Pointing out that a major part of the 25-year cooperation document between Iran and China is related to cultural issues, Kanaani emphasized the need to pay more attention to cultural issues in Iran-China relations.
