Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking during his weekly press conference on Monday, Khatibzadeh referred to the Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif's visit to China and the roadmap for the 25-year cooperation between the two countries, saying: "The document of the strategic partnership between Iran and China is more of a roadmap between the two countries, which has been discussed between them for several years. It was discussed on this visit, and the technical aspects are underway among the experts. There is a serious consensus between Iran and China on this issue, and it is valuable that the relationship being raised to a level of strategic partnership."
In response to a question about a US court ruling that sentenced Iran to pay $1.46 billion in compensation to the family of Robert Levinson, a missing US citizen, he said: "The verdict in the US is ridiculous, a court which condemns a government court. Again, the delusional view that Washington has of the components of the American government and sovereignty that they have in the world is ridiculous."
End of occupation can end tensions between Baku, Yerevan
The foreign ministry spokesman condemned the bombing of residential areas and infrastructure in the recent clashes between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The official noted: "We call on the countries involved in the war to show restraint, and we believe that dialogue and respect for the territorial integrity of the two sides and the establishment of a mechanism to end the occupation of some cities can contribute to lasting peace in the region."
The spokesman also referred to Iran's plan to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying: "The plan has been discussed with the parties, and we will announce it as soon as they are ready to accept it."
EU must fulfill its obligations
Asked about Europe's performance in the face of US sanctions against Iran, Khatibzadeh said: "We do not expect anyone to be kind to the Iranian people. We expect everyone to fulfill their obligations. Unfortunately, Europe spent all its credibility in the JCPOA to the satisfaction of the United States. We have told them many times that the strategy is wrong. Europe and some other parties have failed to live up to their commitments."
"Whoever issues an order against the Iranian people in Washington and whoever carries out that order is a partner in the crime against the Iranian nation," the diplomat added.
He added: "US sanctions on food and medicine in Iran are very severe, but victory is near, and the US' breath is numbered regarding the sanctions. The United States has awakened the world by frantically using the dollar and other currencies and sanctions, and various mechanisms have been formed, and these are the first steps. Today, the US is the greatest enemy of Iranians."
