Iran Press/ West Asia: In a post on X, Spain’s foreign minister said during the meeting in Doha he had affirmed Spain’s firm commitment to “peace and stability in the region”.
He added that this would include the release of captives and a ceasefire, as well as a two-state solution in the Israel-Palestine conflict with Israel and Palestine coexisting in peace.
The two-state solution is a solution that has been raised by Arab countries and some European countries, and recently by the United States after the Gaza war, but the far-right cabinet of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has opposed it.
At the same time, some other countries believe that a referendum with the participation of all Palestine residents including Muslims, Jews, and Christians is the best way to end more than 70 years of conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Iran supports the referendum and Ayatollah Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, has proposed this solution. 219
