Thousands of protesters in South Korea have demanded the resignation of President Moon Jae-in.

Iran Press/Asia: Thousands took to the streets of Seoul on Saturday to demand the removal of Moon Jae-in for "political failure, surrender to North Korea and electoral corruption."

Protesters say the April parliamentary election, which Moon won, was rigged.

Seoul city officials have sought to ban conservative-planned demonstrations over the 75th anniversary of South Korea's independence, but a court issued a permit citing civil liberties after people protested the ban.
