Iran Press/ Europe: The City Hall, the national library, which was devastated before the invasion of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was a gathering place for students and those interested in knowledge.
Nearly 80 percent of the library complex, along with 2 million books and magazines and 700 copies of antique books about Bosnia's history, were burnt in the fire, despite the citizens' efforts to save them.
Every year, on the anniversary of the tragedy, a ceremony is held by the academic, cultural, political, and social figures and the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The renovation of this building lasted for 18 years, and the City Hall was opened back in 2014 – on the Day of Victory over Fascism. Therefore, one of its symbols, a building that was declared a national monument of BiH, was returned to the city of Sarajevo.
