Iran Press/ Iran news: The Saint Stepanos Monastery was originally built in the ninth century and is inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
The monastery is respected by all Christians and almost all of the religions but belongs to the followers of St. Gregory the Illuminator.
Jolfa is located to the north of Tabriz, separated by the Aras River from its northern neighbor and namesake, the town of Julfa in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The monastery has been surrounded by trees in a green valley and stone walls have been built all around it.
