The foreign ministers of Russia and Ukraine are expected to meet on the sidelines of a multilateral conference in Antalya, Turkey on Thursday, March 10.

Iran PressAsia: On February 24, Russia formally declared a special military operation against Ukraine, noting that its operation in Ukraine is not a start to the war, but an attempt to prevent a global war.

The third round of peace talks between the two sides ended with a top Ukrainian official saying there had been minor, unspecified progress toward establishing safe corridors that would allow civilians to escape the fighting. Russia’s top negotiator said he expects those corridors to start functioning soon.

In this regard, to continue peace settlement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba arrived Wednesday in the Turkis.

Lavrov, Kuleba and their accompanying delegations landed at the Antalya airport and traveled to a hotel where they will stay.

The delegations will stay in separate hotels before the crucial meeting Thursday as part of Turkiye's efforts to mediate between the warring countries.

Turkiye’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has expressed hope that the meeting will be a "turning point" and "important step" toward peace and stability and he said Tuesday that Ankara will "continue to make efforts for a lasting peace."
