Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has congratulated his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolas Maduro, on the occasion of the National Day of Venezuela, expressing the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
In his message President Rouhani said: "The Islamic Republic congratulates and praises the Venezuelan nation and government for following and continuing the paths of such great freedom-seeking leaders as Simon Bolivar and Hugo Chavez, and we declare our full support for the brotherly nation of Venezuela, hoping for strengthening and expansion of ties between Tehran and Caracas."
It is worth noting that 5 July is the anniversary of Venezuela's independence from Spain. On 5 July 1811 Venezuela gained its independence from Spain, and every year, 5 July is celebrated in Venezuela as "independence day".
On Friday 5 July, President Nicolas Maduro attended a full military parade in Caracas, with the Armed Forces displaying their might on the occasion of independence day.
