Rome (IP) - A Conference about Palestine's status in international law was held at the Embassy of Palestine in Rome, Italy on May 16, 2023.

Iran PressEurope: A group of Italian, Palestinian, and European jurists participated in a conference about Palestine's status in international law on Tuesday.

Violations of Palestinian rights, the Zionist regime's crimes against Palestinian women and children, as well as the disastrous condition of Palestinian prisoners, were discussed at the one-day Palestine conference in Rome.

Speakers at the conference emphasized: "The legal status of Palestine is important to ensure peace and the enjoyment of the Palestinian people's fundamental rights."

According to the speakers Israel has imprisoned more than 1 million innocent Palestinians since 1967.

"Israeli regime has opened many prisons to torture Palestinians both physically and mentally," Speakers noted.

Head of the Palestinian community in Rome Yousef Salman told IranPress reporter on the ground: "Monitoring the situation of Palestinian prisoners in Israel and oppression of Palestinians by the Zionists were the goals of the conference."

Declaring solidarity with Palestinians, Salman stated: "We inform the world about the policy and crimes of the Israeli regime."

Youssef Salman said: "Conference declaring solidarity with the Palestinian nation will be held simultaneously in other European countries."

Along with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Israeli regime, a group of Italians and Palestinians rallied in Rome on May 13, 2023, commemorating Nakba Day.
