Iranian President described communications and information technology the symbol of development of societies and stated that resisting modern technologies and developments is an outdated approach.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking in a meeting with the minister, deputies and senior managers of Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) on Monday, president Hassan Rouhani stressed that having a proper understanding of modern technologies and creating its culture is the only way to address issues related to technology.

According to Iran Press, Rouhani added that opposing people’s demands is not correct, either from a religious, moral, ethical or Sharia law point of view.

President Rouhani also strongly opposed unsolicited advertising on mobile phones, saying those customers who don't want advertising on their mobiles must be spared these adverts. President Rouhani also made a case for teaching school children the proper way to use technology - particularly computers and internet - as part of their curriculum in the classroom.

He also said that modern technologies have many advantages and limited risks, and we cannot separate people’s lives from developments in technology and telecommunications.
