Iran Press/Iran News: Abdolfattah Navvab made the remarks on Monday in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on the sidelines of the International Conference on the Ashura Movement and Its Impressions from the Perspectives of Imam Khomeini.
The representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs said: “Among Muslims in the West Asian region, many follow Imam Hussein (PBUH), the third Shia Imam. They have learned their resistance and movements from Imam Khomeini and Imam Hussein, and this is evident in their slogans. Like the slogan of “Labaik Ya Hussain” (meaning we will follow your path), which is expressed by the Shiites of Lebanon and Hezbollah.”
“Also in Yemen, you see the same orientations,” he added.
Navvab referred to the Arba'een, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, saying: “Arba'een is one of the occasions when this issue is evident, and you can see that a large number of Muslims, as well as from other religions, who would attend the ceremony.”
Arba'een, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (AS).
Every year Shia Muslims from all across the globe converge on Iraq to commemorate Arba'een. Pilgrims travel miles on foot to reach the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in Karbala.
“It is Imam Hussein's rational, logical, and benevolent path that brings them there, and the impact of this path will be even greater in the future,” the official concluded.
International Conference on Ashura Movement and Its Impressions from the Perspectives of Imam Khomeini was held on Monday on the occasion of the death anniversary of Imam Khomeini, which falls on June 3 this year, with the attendance of various religious figures and intellectuals from around the world via video conferencing due to COVID-19 compulsory social distancing.
