Tabas (IP) - Aid and Rescue operations by all Iranian specialized organizations are underway around the clock in the exploded coal mine of Tabas in the Southern Khorasan province.

Iran Press/ Iran news: A gas blast in a coal mine in Iran’s South Khorasan Province killed at least 31 people and injured 16.

Aid and rescue staff are working under a depth of 200 meters behind the surface of the mine for any worker trapped after the blast.

At least 35 people were killed in the incident, the Iranian Red Crescent Society said on Monday morning as the rescue operations are still underway.

17 other miners were injured in the incident.

The incident occurred at around 21:00 local time on Saturday in one of the mines of Tabas city.
