Iran Press/ Iran news: Condemning the Takfiri terrorists' attack on Shia mosque in Afghanistan, in the open session of the parliament on Sunday, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that the ruling authorities in Afghanistan were responsible for providing security for the people and adopted due measures to punish the crime perpetrators for preventing the re-happening of such crimes.
Earlier, late on Friday, a terrorist suicide bomb attack killed at least 50 people in Gozar-e-Sayed Abad Mosque in Kunduz Province, used by the minority Shia Muslim community, Northern Afghanistan,
While more than 100 people were injured in the blast in the northern city, the Islamic State Group said they were behind the attack.
"Unfortunately, the martyrdom of a large number of defenseless and innocent people of Afghanistan in the Sayed Abad Mosque in Kunduz hurt the hearts of all free people of the world. I offer my condolences to the Afghan brothers and sisters for this tragic loss, and I ask God Almighty for patience and reward for the survivors of the martyrs of this incident," Ghalibaf said.

The Speaker of Iran's Parliament also called on the leaders of Islamic countries to vigilantly emphasize the unity of Muslim nations to prevent the continuation of the Takfiri groups' activities and ensure conformity and security throughout the region.
It was the deadliest assault since US forces left Afghanistan in 2021.
The US invaded Afghanistan in 2001 under the pretext of 'war on terror,' but thousands of people were killed during the period.
