Iran Press/ Europe: Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, the representative of the Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the country, left for Russia on Tuesday, at the invitation of his Russian counterpart, Nikolai Patrushev.
He is about to attend the fifth meeting of regional security talks, which will be held in Moscow in the presence of the secretaries of the National Security Council of Afghanistan's neighboring countries.
This meeting, which was founded by the Islamic Republic of Iran, will be held on Wednesday morning, during which the latest security, political and economic developments in Afghanistan will be reviewed by the country's neighbors and consensus will be reached on the issues discussed.
One of the main programs planned for the trip is Shamkhani's meeting and discussion with high Russian officials and pursuing bilateral agreements.
Upon his arrival in Moscow, Shamkhani said in response to Iran Press News Agency that the relations between Iran and Russia are deepening in various fields, including economy, defense and military, security, science, corridor, etc.
Stating that the problems of the Afghan people are caused by the inefficiency of the occupiers and the events after the occupation, Shamkhani said the regional countries are examining ways to solve Afghanistan's problems at the Moscow meeting, considering that Afghanistan can become a crisis in the region.
He accused the extra-regional powers of interfering in the internal affairs of the countries of the region and said that with these actions, they are preventing the resolution of the crisis by regional actors.
Extra-regional powers are trying to weaken and delay the potential power of regional countries to solve their crises by creating differences between them and interfering in their internal affairs.
Although the details of this part of Shamkhani's travel plans to Russia have not yet been published, according to Nour News pointing to the visit of the Secretary of the National Security Council of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Patrushev, to Iran in November and the focus of the parties' talks on pursuing agreements between the two countries, Shamkhani's meeting with Patrushev will be one of the main plans for the Russian diplomat's trip to Iran to continue the consultations that started earlier in Tehran.
