Iran Press/ Iran News: The mourning ceremony for Imam Hussein (AS) was held in the Razavi shrine in Mashhad, the capital of Khorasan Razavi Province, northeastern Iran, on Monday evening with the change of the flag of the dome of the Razavi shrine in compliance with health protocols and social distancing.
Every year, a day before the beginning of Muharram, the flag of the dome of the holy shrine of the eighth Shia Imam is changed, and the mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussein (AS) begin.
Considering the coronavirus outbreak, the city of Mashhad is in the red zone, and this year, due to the spread of the delta variation, the mourners are forbidden to enter the shrine of Imam Reza (AS).
