(IP) - "The first people who should take the lead in fighting corruption are the statesmen," President Raisi said on Saturday, emphasizing that the fight against corruption is one of the central and main goals of the 13th government.

Iran Press/Iran news: Ebrahim Raisi made an unannounced visit to the Presidential Centre for Combatting Corruption on Saturday and received reports on the processes.

Speaking to the managers and experts of this center, the president said, "Fighting corruption is an unwritten agreement between this government and the people, so the first ones who should be the leaders in the fight against corruption are the government officials".

Raisi described the first step in creating hope among people in fighting corruption to have an ear to listen to people's reports, saying, "Reforming affairs and creating transformation depends on the health of the country's administrative system".

He pointed out that in the past, sometimes there were red lines in fighting corruption, and some officials said that some persons were their red lines and nobody should approach them, saying, "We broke these red lines and said that our red line is national interests and the corrupt person, even if they have positions and influence, they must be dealt with".

"In the Popular Government, the main approaches, including the work in this center is actually a manifestation of popularizing the fight against corruption," the president concluded.
