Tehran(IP): In a phone conversation with the Russian President, Iran's President stated that the operation 'True Promise' was successfully carried out to punish the aggressor, and we will respond to any action against Iran's interests more fiercely, extensively and painfully than before.

Iran PressIran news: In a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday afternoon, Iran's President appreciated the principled and constructive position of the Russian government towards the legitimate defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran in response to the aggressive action of the Zionist regime against the Iranian consulate in Syria.

Ebrahim Raisi described this terrorist act as a clear violation of international laws, including the Vienna Convention, and a serious threat to global peace, and stated, "The destructive role of America and some Western countries, and the inaction and inefficiency of international institutions, including the United Nations and the Security Council, in dealing with the aggressive act of the Zionist regime of attacking the Iranian consulate in Syria led the Islamic Republic of Iran, in line with exercising its right to self-defense based on Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, to design and implement an operation against the same centers that had done evil acts against Iranian consulate in Damascus".

Stating that operation "True Promise" was successfully carried out to punish the aggressor, Iran's President stressed, "We firmly declare that we will respond to any action against Iran's interests more fiercely, extensively and painfully than before".

While appreciating the diplomatic efforts of the Russian government to thwart the conspiracies of the United States and some Western countries in the UN Security Council, Raisi stated, "We advise those countries that have a dual approach in facing the crimes of the Zionist regime and express concern over increasing tensions in the region to stop supporting the Zionists' genocide and crimes against the oppressed Palestinian people to maintain the stability and security of the region".

In this telephone conversation, Russian President Vladimir Putin, while condemning the terrorist act of the Zionist regime against the consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran, described this act to be against all international standards and regulations and stated, "What the Islamic Republic of Iran did in response to this criminal act in the shadow of the inaction of the Security Council was the best way to punish the aggressor and a manifestation of the tact and rationality of Iran's leaders".

The President of Russia strongly criticized the behavior of America and some Western countries in creating tension in the region and stated, "We believe that the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the main foundations of stability and security in the region".In this telephone conversation, the presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia also reviewed the latest state of bilateral cooperation in various fields of trade, security, energy, transportation, and science and technology, and emphasized the need to accelerate the implementation of agreements and understandings between the two countries and develop cooperation. 219
