Tehran (IP) - President of Iran says the support for the Palestinian nation and the fight against the Israeli regime are considered an unchangeable principle of the Islamic Ummah's identity.

Iran PressIran News: In a telephone conversation with his Indonesian counterpart Joko Vidodo on Thursday, Ebrahim Raisi stressed the importance of the Palestinian issue and called for holding an urgent meeting by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and making a joint decision to defend the oppressed Palestinian nation and confront of the Israeli regime's crimes.

Raisi said that the Islamic world, as an influential block in the world's equations, needed more integrity and that Iran would welcome any initiative to deepen relations between Islamic countries. 

He referred to the 70-year relationship between Iran and Indonesia stressed the strengthening of economic cooperation, and expressed hope that the cooperation could lead to the prosperity of the two nations. 

Joko Vidodo, for his part, emphasized the need to deepen the relations between Tehran and Jakarta in order to bring the two nations closer together and secure common interests.

He welcomed Raisi's suggestion of the OIC urgent meeting and expressed hope that the meeting could lead to much more convergence of the Islamic countries.
