Referring to the conflict in Ukraine, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, said: "As the Islamic Republic of Iran opposes the conflict and the war, it also expresses its strong opposition to NATO's expansionist policies."
During the meeting, Raisi also referred to the industrial and trade capabilities of the two countries and said that Tehran and Warsaw have different capacities to expand relations in all fields.
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran did not consider the current level of economic and trade relations between Tehran and Warsaw equal to the political relations between the two countries and added: "There are various capacities, including in the industrial and economic fields in the two countries, which we must realize through joint efforts in order to expand mutual interests."
Iran Press/ Iran news: The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran also referred to the appreciation of the Poles for the support of the Iranians to the refugees of that country during the Second World War and said: "The rich historical background and civilization of Iran and Poland can be a good platform for strengthening scientific and cultural interactions between the two countries."
The Polish Foreign Minister also stated that the history of relations between Iran and Poland dates back to the 16th century. The two countries have had friendly relations for almost 5 centuries, and one of the most memorable phases in the relations between the two countries is the hospitality of Iranians to Polish refugees during World War II.
Zbigniew Rau also noted that the two countries have much in common: "The people of Iran and Poland have stood up to the intervention of great and foreign powers in the affairs of their country."
The Polish Foreign Minister further stressed that the level of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is not favorable, saying: "Poland wants to revive and enhance its cooperation with Iran in the trade, economic, cultural and scientific fields."
